Year-round after school dance, theater, music, sports and visual arts programming as well as academic assistance.
Young Dancers in Repertory currently has two after school program sites.
In January 2008, New York City’s Department for Youth and Community Development (DYCD) awarded Young Dancers in Repertory an Out of School Time (OST) grant through which we provide children in grades K-5 at P.S. 127 in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, with dance, music, theater and visual art classes in an environment that is safe, nurturing and rewarding.

YDR After-School Registration Q&A
When can I register for the 2025-2026 school year?
- DYCD releases the applications by mid to end of July via the following website discoverdycd.dycdconnect.nyc/program-public
We unfortunately do not know the exact release date and this may be subject to change. You can contact us the week of July 21 for updates.
- To apply you will need to sign up for an account and have child’s OSIS number available with a valid parent email address NOT your child’s school email.
- You can search for our program by searching for Young Dancers in Repertory at P.S.127
Are slots guaranteed?
- Our program registration process is first come, first serve with completed YDR medical form and consent forms that will be sent to families after we receive a submitted application via the DYCD Connect system.
Once you submit an online application, your application will be considered pending. (This does not mean your child has been accepted)
How much does the program cost?
- DYCD programs are free of charge
How many seats are available?
- We currently have 120 slots available. There are 18 seats for kindergarten and the rest divided over remaining five grades. Unfortunately, due to limited seats, we strongly suggest you plan for alternative child care in the event your child does not get a spot in the program.
What are the hours?
- Our program provides 3 hours of programming for students in grades K-5. Program time is 2:40 -5:40
- Child must attend 5 days and NO early pick-ups as it disrupts the operation of programming.
- Dismissal is from 5:15- 5:40 p.m. (5:40 is the latest pick up time)
What does a day in the program look like?
- YDR staff will pick up your child from their school day classes at the end of the school day. A snack break will be provided from 2:40- 3 p.m. From 3-5:15 p.m. all grades will have a schedule of 40-45 minute time slots to do homework help, arts and crafts, dance, theater, and or games. YDR is not a tutoring program so we cannot teach your child the work they do not understand. That is up to the school day teacher and parent.
